Steps to Follow When You Wrap Your Knee

You may also want to use some Advil or ibuprofen if you are in pain. Or try using a Turmeric paste wrap or turmeric supplement, as an anti inflammatory and pain reliever.

The first step is to take the ace bandage and wrap it around your knee in an “X” shape. Make sure that the bandage is tight, but not too tight. You should be able to feel some pressure, but not so much that it is uncomfortable. Once the ace bandage is in place, you can then use the athletic tape to hold it in place. The “Across” Option for Knee Wrapping

The second way is to use an ace bandage in two opposite directions. Start off by placing the ace bandage around your knee in a clockwise direction. Then, place it around the knee in a counter-clockwise direction. Make sure you are overlapping each bandage by one inch.

 

The “Up and Down” Option

Here,you will need two pieces of tape, which you can hold together as you wrap your knee for support as you work. Start off by placing one piece of tape around your knee, going from the back to the front. Then place another piece of tape in the opposite direction. Make sure you are overlapping each piece by one inch.

The “Straight Across” Option

Take a 2-inch strip of athletic tape and using it to wrap your knee. Start off by placing the strip of tape around the back of your knee, going from left to right. Then bring it around to the front and cross over itself on the other side. Continue this process until you have come full circle around your knee.

Two Other Methods

  • Take a small piece of athletic tape and use it to wrap your knee in the opposite direction. Start off by placing the tape around the back of your knee, going from right to left. Then bring it around to the front and cross over itself on the other side. Continue this process until you have come full circle around your knee.
  • Take a small strip of athletic tape and use it to wrap your knee. Start off by placing the strip of tape around the back of your knee, going from left to right. Then bring it around to the front and cross over itself on the other side. Continue this process until you have come full circle around your knee.
